This article will show you how to view and manage email addresses that have been globally unsubscribed. Before we begin, please note that unsubscribes only apply to marketing/mass communication emails, but users will still receive transactional emails.
To begin, go to Settings>> then select Global Unsubscribes from the Email section.
You will then be shown a complete list of all emails that have been globally unsubscribed, as well as the date this occurred. Global unsubscribes happen when either a user themself unsubscribes their email address from receiving future emails, when an admin manually unsubscribes them, or when an admin deletes/archives an account the email address was tied to.
Please note that global unsubscribes will always be tied directly to the email address and not just to their account. For example, let’s say John Doe had an account with his email unsubscribed in 2020 that was deleted, but he came back in 2022 and used the same email address to set up his new account. Since his email was unsubscribed in his original account it would still be globally unsubscribed, so he would have to be re-subscribed in order to receive emails again.
To remove an email from the global unsubscribe list, simply click on the trashcan icon>> then select Yes, Remove. However, you must receive explicit permission from the owner of the email address to remove it from the global unsubscribe list, otherwise you’ll be in violation of CAN-SPAM rules.
We hope this helps, but please feel free to reach out to success@myfithive.com with any additional questions you may have.
