This article will show you how to integrate Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with your Hive. Please note that with Google fully transitioning to GA4 in 2023 that we have built the integration in conjunction with this change, so you must use GA4to successfully connect it to your Hive. Additionally, Google currently doesn’t support/offer external views of GA4, so you’ll only be able to view the analytics data from your GA4 account. If this is your first time using GA4, you can CLICK HERE to learn how to set up a new property, which will need to be completed prior to connecting it to your Hive.
To begin, we recommend having two tabs open in your browser, one for your Hive and one for your GA4 account since this will make it easier to navigate between the two platforms.
From your GA4 account, click on Admin (located in the lower left corner) >> Data Streams (located in the Property column) >> Web >> then select the applicable property from the list.
From the Web stream details page copy the Measurement ID in its entirety.
Next, navigate to your Hive and select Settings >> Google Analytics 4 Settings >> then paste in the Measurement ID you copied from your GA4 account in the applicable field. You’ll also want to make sure that you select Yes for Include tracking code on Hive, which will automatically add the necessary script to track page views to the GA4 stream/property associated with the GA4 Measurement ID above. Make sure to save the change and you’re all set.
You can then view your website traffic data/report through your GA4 account by clicking on Reports in the left-hand menu.
