How to Import Users

How to Import Users

This article will show you how to Import Users in your Hive.

  1. To begin, go to People (CRM) >> View Everyone

  1. Next, select Import.

  1. If this is the first import being performed in your Hive, select I Understand, Let’s Continue the Import

  1. If this isn’t the first import, you’ll be provided with the report of the last one that was run and will give you the option to review or download its log.

To proceed, select Clear Import/Start Over. You’ll then be prompted to confirm that you’d like to proceed. Please note that this will not delete/clear any users that were previously imported, this simply clears the previous report so it can generate a new one with the import you’re about to perform.

  1. Next, select Choose File, then select the .csv file from your device that contains the leads you’d like to import, then select Upload. Please note that the file must be in .csv format for the import to run correctly.

  1. Additionally, the .csv file must have separate columns for each field of information you’re importing. The available field options for parsing during the import are:

  • Email (required)

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Phone Number

  • Gender

  • Birthday

  • Active

  • Barcode ID

  • Door Access ID

  • Country

  • State/Region

  • City

  • Zip/Postal Code

  • Street Address

  • Address Line 2

  • Tag (any tag you import must be set up the exact same in your Hive prior to import; importing tags do not create them in your Hive)

  • Active

  • Membership Type ID (as it appears in your Hive)

  • Membership Is Cash

  • Membership Exp/Renew Date

  • Membership Terminate Date

  • Membership Auto Renew

  • Membership Rate

  • Member Since/Anniversary

  1. The next step is matching the fields from your .csv to your Hive’s database fields. For example, for the First Name column from your .csv you would selectFirst Name from theMap to Database Field dropdown to match it. You also have the option to skip the record if it’s something you don’t wish to/cannot import. Additionally, if an email already exists in your Hive you can either choose to update their profile, or skip it.

  1. Once you have matched everything up click Save to proceed.

  1. On the next page, select Test/Examine, then selectParse/Test. This will ensure that your import is formatted and mapped correctly. It’s extremely important to complete the test since imports cannot be reversed/deleted once they have been performed. If an import is performed incorrectly then the users that were added from it can only be edited/deleted individually. If everything from the test looks correct, click Continue to Import

  1. To complete the import, check the I Understand the Warnings Above box, then selectExecuteImport

  1. Depending on the size of the file the import can take a minute to finish uploading to your Hive. Once it’s complete the performance report will update and you’ll be provided with the option to view or download the logs again.
