To get started, go to Nutrition >> Generate Meal Plans >> Create Plan.
Next, give the meal plan a name (optional) >> then select the user from the dropdown.
Membership Restrictions allow you, as an admin, to override whether or not the member will have access to the meal plan. For example, if their membership by default doesn’t have nutrition access, you would uncheck the “Must also have a membership with nutrition access” to give them access to the meal plan.
You also have the option to give the member the ability to edit their meal plan, which is completely up to you. *Before this option is available, you must enable the global setting by going to Settings >> General Settings >> then check "Yes" for User Editable Meal Plans (in the Nutrition/Meal Plans Settings section).*
The user’s macros will auto-populate in the meal plan once they have been selected.
Next, you can proceed by selecting Add Day. You’ll notice that a pop-up will appear with Low, Moderate, and High Carb days. This is in case you’re setting up a carb cycling meal plan, but if you’re not you can just select Moderate.
You can then name the day (optional), choose if you want to use base (the generated macros from the macro calculator) or custom macros, and add notes (optional).
From here, you’ll simply select the food options from the Protein, Carbs, Veggie, and Fruit dropdowns as desired for each meal.
Please note that since fats typically come from proteins, carbs, and veggies it doesn’t have it’s own dropdown for each meal, but you can add fat-based options as needed at the bottom of each day.
You also have the option to select a pre-built template by selecting Add From Template, then select the desired plan, which explains what type of meal plan it is (Paleo, Gluten Free, etc) in the title. Any of the FitHive meal plan templates will provide 7 days worth of meals.
Please note that the serving sizes are set to auto-scale based on the individual user’s macros. This means that you will not need to set the serving sizes, you’ll simply add the foods to each meal and your Hive will auto-generate the serving sizes based on the macros for the user. The only time this is not applicable is if you intend to add whole foods, such as a whole egg(s). For example, if you want the meal to include 2 whole eggs you can would set the serving size to 2, then any protein left over for that meal would be rolled into the 2nd protein option you added to the meal.
Once the meal plan has been set up click “Save” to complete. The user can then access the meal plan through the nutrition section of their online account or member app.
We hope this helps, but please feel free to reach out to success@myfithive.com with any additional questions you may have.
