Manually Adding a Payment Method to a User Profile


This article will show you how to manually add a credit/debit card to a user’s profile in your Hive. Before we begin, please note your Hive must be connected to your Stripe account before adding credit/debit cards. 

Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments require additional set up, which must also be done prior to selecting this as a payment method for a user. You can learn more about setting up a user with ACH HERE​.
  1. To begin, go to People (CRM) >> View Everyone >> then search for and select the user you want to add a payment to.

  1. Next, scroll down to the Payment Methods section and click Change underneath the Card on File setting.

  1. From here, fill in the required information, then click Submit to complete the process. 



    If you have a Stripe card terminal connected to your Hive, you can select it underneath Or select terminal to use, after which you can swipe/tap/insert the user's card to add its info to their profile. 


  1. A confirmation will appear on the screen once the credit/debit card information has been submitted successfully.


    If it was unsuccessful, you’ll be provided with an error notification that should provide the cause. Typically, if the system does not accept the information it’s due to something being entered incorrectly, which you can quickly edit. 


  1. If you need to update a user’s credit/debit card info simply repeat the steps above. Please note that you cannot delete a credit/debit card once it has been added to a user, this can only be edited/updated. Additionally, there can only be one credit/debit card saved to a user’s profile at this time, but there are plans to allow multiple in a future update.
