Stripe Settings

Stripe Settings

This article will show you how to access/edit the Stripe settings in your Hive. Before we begin, we'd like to remind you that your Stripe account is configured and connected to your Hive during your onboarding process, so this area should only be accessed to configure ACH payments and/or card terminals, if your Stripe account's secret key has changed, or if you need to connect a new Stripe account to your Hive. We also ask you to please promptly reach out to success@myfithive.com prior to making changes if you're ever unsure about any of the available Stripe configurations/settings since these can impact your Hive's ability to process payments.

Set New Stripe API Keys

  1. To begin, go to Settings >> then scroll down the page and select Stripe. You will then be provided with a snapshot of the Stripe account currently connected to your Hive.

  2. To update your Stripe API keys, or to connect a new Stripe account to your Hive, select Set New Stripe Keys

  3. You will then be prompted to provide the following info:

    1. Previous/Current Stripe Secret Key: this is required as a form of authorization/verification to prevent unauthorized modifications to these settings; this can be accessed in the previous/current Stripe account under Developers >> API Keys

    2. Stripe Publishable Key (starts with "pk_live_"): can be accessed in your Stripe account under Developers >> API Keys.

    3. Stripe Secret Key (starts with "sk_live_"): can be accessed in your Stripe account under Developers >> API Keys.

    4. Currency: select the applicable currency type from the from the dropdown; available currency types are:
      1. USD: United States Dollar
      2. CAD: Canadian Dollar
      3. AUD: Australian Dollar
      4. GBP: British Pound Sterling

  4. Once you have finished adding the required information, click Set new API keys to complete the process.

    *
If you edit existing Stripe API keys all currently connected user payment methods may become invalid unless you get Stripe to migrate customer accounts beforehand (while maintaining customer IDs). Again, if you have any questions or are unsure about of the Stripe settings/configuration please reach out to success@myfithive.com prior to making any changes.

Configure ACH

  1.  ACH payments must first be enabled through your Stripe account before it can be enabled in your Hive. To do so, log into your Stripe account and go to Settings >> Payments >> Payment Methods.

  2. From the Stripe Payment Methods page, scroll down to the Bank Debits section and select Turn On for ACH Direct Debits >> then follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.

*Please note that you do not need to set up or configure any type of webhook for ACH, these will be automatically configured through your Hive once you've enabled ACH

  3. After you have finished enabling ACH in your Stripe account, navigate to the Stripe settings in your Hive and select Configure ACH >> provide your Current Stripe Secret Key (required for any type of edit made to the Stripe configuration in your Hive) >> then click Enable ACH to complete the process.

  4. You can now set up users/members with ACH in your Hive.

Configure Terminals

Before attempting to connect a card terminal to your Hive, it's important to note that it must be a Stripe terminal that is capable of the "Server-driven" integration. As of the now, the only available Stripe terminals that meet this requirement are the BBPOS WisePOS E and Stripe Reader S700. If you purchase a terminal that is not capable of the server-driven integration it will not be usable with your Hive.

After you have purchased the required Stripe terminal type, you will need to connect it to your Stripe account prior to connecting it to your Hive.
  1. Once the terminal requirements outlined at the top of this section have been met, navigate to the Stripe settings page in your Hive >> select Configure Terminals >> then select Add Terminal

  2. Next, provide a reference name for the terminal (ex: Hive Terminal, Front Desk Terminal, POS Terminal, etc.).

  3. You will then select the terminal you connected to your Stripe account from the Stripe Terminal to associate dropdown >> then click Save to complete the process. If you do not see your terminal in the dropdown please reach out to success@myfithive.com so we can help troubleshoot its configuration in your Stripe account.

As of now, card terminals can be used to process Admin POS and Tablet POS payments through your Hive, as well as to add a credit/debit card to a user's profile.

We hope this helps, but please feel free to reach out to success@myfithive.com with any additional questions you may have.
