Audible Alerts for Tablet App Check-Ins
This article will show you to enable audible alerts for the Check-in section of your Tablet App, which can help notify you or your staff when a member's check-in has either succeeded or failed. Please note that these alerts will only be played through the
Check-in section of your Tablet App.
- To begin, log into your Admin Dashboard and navigate to Settings >> General Settings >> then scroll down to the Tablet App Settings section.

- Next, check Yes for the Enable Sounds setting, then save the change.

- Once enabled, the alerts will be played for each successful or failed check-in attempt for general attendance and/or class check-in.
- Successful check-in alerts are triggered when:
- a user has a successful general check-in (attending the gym, but not there for a class)
- a user successfully registers for a class and checks into at the same time from the tablet app
- a user checks successfully checks into a class they registered to outside of the tablet app, such as through your class schedule, member app, or user profile
- Unsuccessful check-in alerts are triggered when:
- a user cannot be found when searching by their last name
- a user has been found but is missing a required waiver(s) (if Require Waiver settings have been enabled)
- contact form (if enabled) is missing required info when submitted, such as user email
- user already exists in your Hive when filling out the contact form
- a user is attempting to sign up for a class they're already registered to
- a user is attempting to sign up for a class that requires payment but does not have a payment method on file
- a user is attempting to sign up for a class that requires payment but does not have a pin on file
- failed payment attempt when signing up for a class that requires payment
- attempting to sign up for a class that is restricted to specific membership types that the user does not have
- a user with a pass-based membership is attempting to check-in or sign up for a class without any remaining passes
- a user with a pass-based membership is attempting to check-in without a pin on file
*Note: due to security reasons, pins are required whenever a user is attempting to check in with a pass-based membership
Restrictions for iOS/Safari Users
Due to iOS not accepting form submissions as an interaction to trigger sounds, audible alerts are not currently available on iPads and/or iPhones. Safari internet browser on Mac computers (desktop and laptop) also blocks the majority of auto-play sounds by default but these can be enabled through Safari's settings, which we've outlined below.
- From Safari, log into your Hive's admin dashboard and open up the Checkin section of your Tablet App.
- Next, click on Safari from the top menu >> Settings >> Auto-Play and your website's URL should automatically be listed in the "Currently Open Websites" box.

- Locate the auto-play dropdown and select Allow All Auto-Play, then you're all set. Audible alerts for check-ins made through your tablet app should now play on your computers speakers.

We hope this helps but please feel free to reach out to
success@myfithive.com with any additional questions you may have.
